You may be wondering why the breviary isn’t identifying today, September 19th, the first Wednesday after the Feast of the Holy Cross as an Ember Day.

Hopefully we’ll get this sorted out shortly.
Update: Ok—things seem to be sorted out now and the next few days should run as properly scheduled.

St. Bede's Breviary Blog 
First, I found your site a few weeks ago I want to tell you that I love doing the Daily Office on your site. It is so easy to read and use. Visually it is attractive, but not distracting. I feel at peace when I read it. I understand that it is a lot of work to do this and I thank you (and your family) for the time it takes for you to do this.
I have been doing the Office online for a couple years now. It is not important what site I used before or why I switched. But, I have always gone to non-traditional churches, so I have learned a lot these past couple years. However, an expert in Anglican/Catholic liturgical practices (if that is even the way to say it!) I am not, so I still have questions from time to time.
In using your site, my main question has been–why “St. Bedes breviary?” I know who St. Bede is and I think I know what a breviary is, but why St. Bedes breviary? If you have answered this question somewhere on your site, I apologize. I am not particularly computer savvy either! Just direct me–you don’t need to rewrite what you have already written.

I don’t exactly know where to make comments like the one I am going to make since it is not referring to “ember days” but to the reading in Jonah on October 17, 2012. I guess I will do it here. I don’t have the translation you are using here at home, but have looked up the verse in a couple translations and don’t see the following: “Those who have been saved shall go up to Mount Zion to rule Mount Esau.” Was this slipped in by mistake or is it actually in some translations? It doesn’t really make sense in the context.
Hi Stephanie–it’s actually the last verse of Obadiah that got mislabeled in my database. Thanks for telling me! It’s fixed now.
